Our ultimate goal is to have zero accidents, and we will never compromise on working conditions that could endanger the health or safety of our employees. To ensure the safety of our team, we provide thorough safety training for all employees, and we expect them to follow all safety instructions and wear personal protective equipment when necessary. We believe that by taking care of our employees and providing a safe work environment, we can create a positive and supportive workplace that benefits everyone.

Responsible employer

We take human rights and labour rights seriously at Helkama. We fully support international and national legislation at all our sites.  As a responsible employer, we follow local collective agreements and other regulations. We cooperate actively with local works council representatives and other representatives for personnel. We make written employment contracts with every employee.

We don’t tolerate any form of child labour or forced labour or discrimination in our teams. We believe in empowering our employees and respecting their right to form unions. Under the EU whistleblowing system, companies with 50 or more employees are required to establish a system for receiving and handling reports of illegal activities or wrongdoing to increase transparency and accountability within companies.

At Helkama, we consistently strive to act responsibly, both in compliance with the law and our ethical principles. Should any instances of misconduct or inappropriate behaviour arise, it is of utmost importance to us that they are brought to our attention. In Finland, we have established a dedicated whistleblowing channel exclusively for our employees, enabling them to report any potential violations or unethical conduct. We actively encourage our employees to make use of this channel, and we ensure that all concerns raised are addressed promptly. We want our employees to feel comfortable and confident in reporting any potential violations and understand that raising concerns can be a difficult and sensitive matter. Our whistleblowing channel allows for anonymous reporting for our employees.

When reports are received, we take them very seriously and review them carefully to ensure that the necessary corrective actions are taken. We recognize the importance of addressing potential violations promptly, not only for the wellbeing of our employees, but also to maintain the integrity of our company.
