HELKAMA BICA OY’S CONFLICT MINERALS POLICY STATEMENT
Helkama Bica Oy is committed to sourcing components and materials from companies that share our values around human rights, ethics and environmental responsibility.
On August 22, 2012, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) issued the final conflict minerals rule under Section 1502 the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the “Conflict Minerals Rule”). The Conflict Minerals Rule requires publicly traded companies to report annually the presence of conflict minerals (tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold, or “3TG”) originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining countries (“Covered Countries”).
Helkama Bica Oy supports the goal of ending violence, human rights violations and environmental devastation in the Covered Countries. We are committed to complying with any requirements applicable to our Company under the Conflict Minerals Rule.
Helkama Bica Oy uses some of these materials in the manufacturing of our products, as they are required for the functional performance of the products. Helkama Bica Oy does not purchase these metals directly from smelters or mines, so we must rely on the source information provided by our suppliers. Helkama Bica Oy is working closely with our direct suppliers to trace minerals back to their origin in order to ensure responsible sourcing. Helkama Bica Oy requires suppliers whose products contain 3TG to submit this information to Helkama Bica Oy using the standardized EICC/GeSI Conflict Minerals Reporting Template that traces the metals back through the supply chain.
Helkama Bica Oy fully understands the importance of this issue to its customers and is committed to supply chain initiatives and overall corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts that work towards a conflict free supply chain.
Sincerely, In Kaarina, 25.10.2022
