The most powerful icebreaker

Polaris is the most powerful icebreaker under the Finnish flag and the first icebreaker in the world to feature environmentally friendly dual-fuel engines capable of using both low-sulfur marine diesel oil (LSMDO) and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Helkama Bica was the main cable supplier producing and delivering over 300 km of cables on time and according to Archtech Helsinki Shipyard’s production schedule. Helkama covered the full scope of low voltage power and instrumentation cabling needs for the project.
